News & Events

small pageThe Internet has become a daily fixture in most of our lives. We rely on it for reference, information, entertainment, and much more. It is also becoming the primary way that people are introduced to a new church and can be a great way to communicate a church's mission, spirit and values before a guest ever gets to the front door.

Tulsa Central Church has had a working web site for several years but the time had some to make the information more organized and easy to navigate.

There are a number of ways that you can use the website.

Pray — ask God to use the web site as a new way for us to reach out into the community.

Offer to write or take pictures — To keep the site fresh, we will need new pictures and stories regularly. Take pictures at any of your class or small group events and submit them for publication. Or let us know if you are available to write.

Pass the site along to friends — Send the web site link along to friends or family that you have been wanting to invite to church.

Use the web in your own areas of ministry — Start thinking about the web as a viable way to increase the effectiveness of your ministry.

Use as a reference — Get in the habit of checking the site for event details, volunteer schedules, news items. If you have an upcoming event, submit the details for inclusion on the Upcoming Events section.

Submit news, prayer requests, etc. — If you have something noteworthy to share (engagements, new baby announcements, promotions, moving, etc.) and privacy is not an issue, please submit your items. There will also be links for prayer requests, communicating with the church staff, making reservations for events, etc.

Media and blogs—Down the road, we will be adding additional media, video and blogs from staff members and other features. If you have an idea for something you think others would find valuable, please let us know.

Privacy issues—The staff and church board are mindful of the privacy issues related to the web site. Occasionally your photograph might be taken to appear on the site. If you would prefer that we not use your photo or photos of your children, please contact the church office and asked to be added to the No Photo list. We want to respect your preferences in this matter.

And check the web site frequently. The more we learn to use it as a valuable tool for communication, the more relevant it will become to the life of our church.
